Future Shopfloor: The TechDay for smart production

How can Digital Twins, AI, and data integration be used effectively in production – and how can today’s connected factory evolve into the intelligent production of tomorrow?

These questions were at the center of a joint TechDay hosted by Bosch Rexroth and OPITZ CONSULTING. The event focused on practical innovations and forward-looking strategies for the shopfloor.

Manufacturing is currently undergoing a fundamental shift: Digital Twins, Asset Administration Shells, and AI technologies are transforming how factories think, plan, and operate. The TechDay demonstrated through real-world examples how companies can move from vision to practical implementation.

Together with additional partners, Bosch Rexroth and OPITZ CONSULTING presented scalable solutions for connected, intelligent, and adaptive production — ranging from active data integration and Digital Twins to self-optimizing processes.

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for participants to experience the Bosch Rexroth “Intelligent Floor” live in the model factory. This demonstration showed how automation, data, and AI can work together to achieve measurable efficiency gains and greater flexibility in production.

Whether addressing brownfield or greenfield environments, the event provided insights into how companies can leverage new technologies to optimize processes, reduce costs, and strengthen their long-term competitiveness.
